Forty years of science.
Nobody shipped it.
OPTES exists to close the gap between neuroscience research and consumer neurotechnology — one product at a time, built from the science up.
The research-to-product gap is structural.
Targeted Memory Reactivation has been validated across more than 100 peer-reviewed studies since the early 1990s — Rasch et al. 2007 (Science), Rudoy et al. 2009 (Science), Oudiette & Paller 2013, Hu et al. 2020 meta-analysis. As of 2025, no consumer product delivered the mechanism at scale.
OPTES was founded to close gaps of that shape — one replicated mechanism, one shipping product, at a time.
Carson Cherveny
Carson founded OPTES in 2025 after identifying the research-to-product gap in sleep neuroscience. He designed the hardware, firmware, on-device ML, and companion app for the first product in the OPTES portfolio.
Science in. Product out.
Three principles OPTES won't compromise on.
Every decision starts with peer-reviewed, replicated research. No pseudoscience. No shortcuts. If controlled studies haven't shown the mechanism works, we don't build on it.
All computation happens on-device. Raw biometric data never leaves the hardware. Zero cloud dependencies, zero server-side profiles, zero data brokers in the loop.
Lightweight. No electrodes. No gel. Designed so you forget you're wearing it — which is exactly the point of a product you put on every night.
Research to ship.
Milestones for the first product in the OPTES portfolio.
Research & validation
TMR literature review. Identified mechanisms, cue modalities, and timing constraints.
Prototype design
Industrial design. Sensor placement, haptic array layout, bone conduction positioning.
On-device ML pipeline
Sleep stage detection, cue timing optimization, adaptive personalization — all running locally on the device.
Hardware integration
Combine ML pipeline with physical hardware. Begin internal sleep testing.
Beta program
Early waitlist members test Nova One. Real-world sleep data collection.
Public launch
Nova One ships to the waitlist. Companion app release.
